Home has always been more than just a place.
It’s a cultural concept, an ideal, a kind of loyalty and a connection with the rest of the world.
Yet our place of residence became all the more important over the pandemic as we were told to ‘stay home’. For many of us, this led to a reappraisal of what home really means and how important that is in our lives.
Travelling Aussie surfer, Rhys Smith, had just settled in the North East of England when restrictions were imposed, and this film explores how he forged deep bonds with the waves and the people in his new ‘Home’.
