First of all we would like to say that we feel blessed by the growing interest and support we have been receiving since we started the project in 2014.
We want to say thank you to all the film makers that have submitted movies to Cold Hawaii Surf & Film Festival 2023.
This year, we have received again many movie submissions from all over the world. Projects made by extremely talented movie directors and cinematographers. Both professional and amateur. Movies that take our breath away, make us laugh, make us cry, make us scared, make us relax. Movies that once again, take us on an around the world adventure.
Except that we had a list of exciting sub-events and special guests adding a unique experience to the festival. We couldn’t be more happy and stoked about the program.
Unfortunately we have some sad news. After weeks of thinking and considering different options, we decided to cancel this year’s edition of Cold Hawaii Surf & Film Festival due to personal reasons.
Sometimes you need to pull the handbrake, even if the road is paved and seems to take you to the right place.
There is also some good news. The festival has experienced a big development in the last 2 years. So big, that our current strategy and organisational structure has to be updated. We will therefore use the year 2023 on re-thinking and developing our concept in a way, so it’s even more enjoyable for the movie makers, the audience, our followers, our partners, our volunteers and the whole team behind the project.
We will also look into possibilities of organising some pop-up events in different locations. Maybe already this year.
